Freeranger has a Food Safety Program registered with Bass Coast Shire Council and our eggs are packaged in accordance with the Shell Egg Code, Victoria. Eggs are an important, healthy and nutritious part of our diet, but to avoid the possibility of food borne illness, fresh eggs must be handled with care. Buy Right Buy eggs only from an accredited free range producer who has an approved Food Safety Program and who uses no additives to boost production or to colour egg yolks. Even some 'natural' colouring agents can create allergic reactions in some people. Store eggs in a cool place (under 18ºc) in their original carton and use within 4 weeks. Keep Everything Clean Before preparing any food, remember that cleanliness is key! Wash hands, utensils, equipment, and work surfaces with hot, soapy water. Cleanliness is vital with recipes for raw or undercooked eggs -- Beef Tartare and Egg Nog are two examples. For your protection, only use eggs from an accredited producer. Serve Safely Serve cooked eggs and egg-containing foods immediately after cooking. For buffet-style serving, keep hot egg dishes hot, and keep cold egg dishes cold.
